For me it was always the sense afterwards that I had taken what I came to call a ”brain vacation”. I came way refreshed, re-energized and ready to take whatever work I was doing at the time to the next level.
What about you?

On 04/04/08 Steve Gehlen, a long-time volunteer and Board member of the original Portland Creative Conference, sent a message to all of the past Board members that he had email addresses for and suggested that the conditions were right for the return of the event. Several ideas about re-launching and reimagining the event were made in that message as a way to get the dialog started (including forming a new nonprofit entity whose Board would be a mix of some previous Board members and some new, fresh voices).
A one-day “beta” version of the re-launched Creative Conference is tentatively planned for Saturday September 6th, which puts it just after Inverge: the interactive convergence conference and running concurrent with one of the days that both the Time-Based Art Festival and MusicFestNW are happening.
The response from several past leaders of the Creative Conference, including former chairman Will Vinton and former executive director CJ Glazer, was positive and Steve created this blog to host continued dialog and updates to the community.
